A few words at a time, not a scrolling wall
Most teleprompters scroll a whole page of text past your eyes, and it shows in the delivery. Promptness holds a small batch of words at a fixed focal point and ghosts the next batches below it.
Your eye reads ahead into the faint preview while you speak the anchored words from short-term memory. That gap is what makes the delivery sound like conversation rather than recitation.

It floats over your camera
The prompter sits on top of your camera app, Instagram, or TikTok. Reels are captured from the sensor, not the screen, so the words you are reading never appear in the recorded video.
Paste a script, pick a pace
Drop in text and Promptness shows the word count and an estimated runtime. Four presets cover most filming, or set words per minute and words per batch by hand.
Tuned to your shot
Panel height, text size, colours, and background opacity are all adjustable, so the band stays readable over a bright scene and small enough to keep out of frame.
What it does while you film
Pacing built on real speaking rates
Conversational sits at 145 WPM, Presentation at 130, Energetic at 180 for short-form, and Deliberate at 120 for technical material. Past 200 WPM the app warns you that you will sound rushed.
Batches that respect your sentences
Batching is phrase-aware. It prefers to break at sentence and clause boundaries, and it never splits a phrase you have marked for emphasis across two batches.
Pauses and emphasis you control
Punctuation sets the default rhythm. Add [pause:600] for a breath or a dramatic beat, and **bold** a word to mark it for emphasis. Timed .srt or .vtt files can drive the pacing instead.
Slide markers for the edit
Tap MARK each time you change a graphic while filming. A flash and beep at t=0 give you a sync point, then export the timestamps as CSV, YouTube chapters, or markers for DaVinci Resolve or Premiere.
Your camera stays usable
Taps outside the band pass straight through to the app underneath, so the record button still works. Drag the band under your lens to keep your eyeline on camera.
Nothing leaves your device
Scripts are parsed and stored locally, with no analytics on your content. Marker sessions stay on the phone until you tap an export button and choose where to send them.
