This Privacy Policy applies to Promptness, the Android application published by Hilo Information Technology Inc. ("Hilo", "we", "us", or "our") under the package name ca.promptness. It describes what the app does and does not do with your information. This policy covers the mobile app only; our website is covered by our separate website Privacy Policy.

Summary

Promptness does not collect, transmit, or share your personal information. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Your scripts and settings are stored on your device and are not sent to us or to anyone else. The app does not request internet access permission.

Information We Collect

None. We do not collect personal information through the Promptness app. Specifically, the app does not ask you to create an account or sign in, does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number, does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or location, and contains no analytics, crash-reporting, tracking, or advertising software.

Information Stored on Your Device

Promptness saves the following on your device so the app can work. This information stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you uninstall the app:

• Your scripts: The text you write or paste, along with script names and any cadence marks you add.
• Your preferences: Settings such as text size, colours, prompter height, countdown duration, and scrolling behaviour.
• Imported documents: If you open a PDF slide deck in the app, it is read from and stored on your device only.
• A daily play count: A simple counter used to apply the free tier's daily limit. It is a number stored locally and is not linked to you or reported to us.

Sharing and Export

Promptness includes features that let you share a script or export marker files for use in video editing software. These actions happen only when you choose them. When you do, the app hands the content to Android's standard share sheet and you select the destination — for example an email app, a messaging app, or cloud storage. Hilo does not receive a copy, and the privacy practices of the app or service you select are governed by that provider, not by us.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Promptness is free to use, with an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features. If you choose to subscribe:

• Google Play processes the transaction. We never see or receive your payment card details. Google's handling of your information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat, Inc. is the service we use to confirm whether a valid subscription is active. To do this, it processes a randomly generated, app-specific identifier along with purchase and device information supplied by Google Play. This identifier is not your name, email address, or Google account, and we do not use it to identify you personally. RevenueCat's practices are described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Your scripts, settings, and documents are never sent to Google Play or to RevenueCat.

Permissions the App Requests

Promptness requests a small number of Android permissions, each required for the prompter to function:

• Display over other apps: Lets the floating prompter remain visible above your camera or recording app while you present. It displays only your own script text and never reads, captures, or records the contents of other apps.
• Foreground service: Keeps the prompter running reliably while it is on screen, so Android does not stop it mid-take.
• Keep the screen awake: Prevents your display from switching off while a script is playing.

Children's Privacy

Promptness is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Security

Because Promptness keeps your content on your device and does not transmit it to us, the security of that content depends primarily on your device. We recommend using a screen lock and keeping Android up to date. Purchase transactions are secured by Google Play.

Your Rights and Choices

You remain in control of everything the app stores. You can delete any script from within the app at any time, and uninstalling Promptness removes all scripts, settings, and imported documents from your device. Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf. Data Retention

We do not retain personal information from the app, because we do not collect any. Content you create is kept on your device for as long as you keep it there. Records relating to purchases are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat in accordance with their own policies.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add a feature that changes how information is handled. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
