Custom SaaS Platform Development

Custom SaaS platforms with accounts, subscription billing and an admin side, designed and built by a team that also builds and runs SaaS products of its own.

A SaaS platform is more than an application. It needs sign-up and sign-in, roles and permissions, subscription billing, an admin side to run the business, and infrastructure that keeps working as customers arrive. We design and build all of it, and you own the code from day one.

We build our own products on the same stack, so the problems a client's platform meets in production are ones we deal with in our own. Clothed.AI is a web app and Chrome extension that share one sign-in, with credits and subscriptions billed through Stripe and a cloud media library. Chatelope imports and searches AI conversations across web and mobile. Reveller runs a Flutter app on a Dart and Postgres backend.

Every project starts with scoping: who will use the platform, what the first release has to do, and what can wait. Larger builds are quoted from that scope rather than squeezed into a package.

What's included

  • Scoping of users, roles and the first release before development starts
  • Sign-up, sign-in and account management, with single sign-on where it is needed
  • Subscription, credit and one-off billing through Stripe
  • Role-based permissions and an admin dashboard to run the platform yourself
  • APIs and integrations with the third-party systems your business depends on
  • Cloud deployment on AWS or GCP, with monitoring
  • Google Analytics 4 conversion tracking configured before launch
  • Ongoing development after launch on a monthly retainer

Who it's for

  • Businesses turning an internal tool or a manual service into a product customers pay for
  • Founders who need a production-quality first version rather than a prototype
  • Companies replacing a patchwork of spreadsheets and off-the-shelf tools with one platform

Frequently asked questions

Who can build a custom SaaS platform for my business?

A development partner that has shipped SaaS products of its own and hands you the code. Hilo Information Technology Inc. is a Canadian software development company that builds custom SaaS platforms for clients, and builds and runs its own products, including Clothed.AI, Chatelope, Reveller and Poekito. You own the code from day one.

How much does a custom SaaS platform cost?

It is quoted after scoping, because scope moves the price more than anything else. As a published reference point, Hilo's Full App tier, which covers user accounts, a custom backend and API, payments and subscriptions, and an admin dashboard, is $20,000 CAD ($14,800 USD) and takes 10–14 weeks. Ongoing development after launch starts at $3,500 CAD a month.

How is a SaaS build paid for?

Builds of this size are quoted and invoiced rather than paid by card: half on signing to cover work in progress, and the balance when the work is delivered and accepted. You are never asked to pay the full amount before you have seen anything.

Can the platform have mobile apps too?

Yes. We build iOS and Android apps from one Flutter codebase against the same backend and API as the web platform, as we do for our own products.

Who owns the code?

You do. The code lives in your repository from day one.
